ACCAME DIFFONDE LETTERA INEDITA A GLADIATORE ARCONTE - ROMA, 21 MAG - Nel gennaio del '91 l'allora direttore del Sismi Silvio Martini sciolse, oltre alla Gladio civile, composta da 622 uomini, anche quella militare che dipendeva dall'ufficio X/o e che era composta dal nucleo 'G'.
Di questo nucleo faceva parte il gladiatore militare Antonino Arconte che ha rivelato l'esistenza di questa struttura parallela composta solo da militari e con compiti operativi e non informativi. Questa struttura, portata all'attenzione del Parlamento dall'ammiraglio Falco Accame, ex presidente della commissione Difesa, non e' mai stata dichiara ufficialmente dal governo italiano. Oggi Accame diffonde la lettera che il direttore del Sismi invio' ad Arconte per annunciargli la chiusura del suo nucleo, composto da militari, in seguito alla decisione del governo di sciogliere Stay Behind.
Accame ha preparato una denuncia su questa struttura, presentata stamani alla procura militare e inviata anche, per conoscenza, all'ex presidente del Consiglio dell'epoca Giulio Andreotti e all'ex capo dello Stato Francesco Cossiga. Nella lettera di Martini, allegata alla denuncia si afferma: 'il servizio segreto la ringrazia di quanto ha fatto negli interessi della patria e le chiede di mantenere, comunque, sui fatti, la massima riservatezza'.
Accame scrive ad Andreotti, che nel 2002 ha presentato una interrogazione sull'argomento, che all'epoca 11 ministeri interessati dichiararono di ignorare l'esistenza di questa Gladio militare, che operava prevalentemente all'estero, e del gladiatore Arconte. 'Cio' nonostante che una delle operazioni cui ha partecipato la Gladio all'estero, e cioe' la destituzione del presidente tunisino Bourkiba, venga trattata anche nel libro dell'ammiraglio Martini, 'nome in codice Ulisse', e nonostante che ne avesse parlato 'Corriere della Sera' nella intervista fatta all'on. A B S T R A C T
Inhaled depleted uranium (DU) aerosols are recognised as a distinct human health hazard and DU has been suggested to be responsible in part for illness in both military and civilian populations that may have been exposed. This study aimed to develop and use a testing procedure capable of detecting an individual's historic milligram-quantity aerosol exposure to DU up to 20 years after the event. This method was applied to individuals associated with or living proximal to a DU munitions plant in Colonie New York that were likely to have had a significant DU aerosol inhalation exposure, in order to improve DU-exposure screening reliability and gain insight into the residence time of DU in humans. We show using sensitive mass spectrometric techniques that when exposure to aerosol has been unambiguous and in sufficient quantity, urinary excretion of DU can be detected more than 20 years after primary DU inhalation contamination ceased, even when DU constitutes only ∼1% of the total excreted uranium. It seems reasonable to conclude that a chronically DU-exposed population exists within the contamination ‘footprint’ of the munitions plant in Colonie, New York. The method allows even a modest DU exposure to be identified where other less sensitive methods would have failed entirely. This should allow better assessment of historical exposure incidence than currently exists.

The primary document at issue is an assessment of Iraqi corruption that was prepared by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.  The document was first reported in The Nation magazine last month, and it was published last week on the Federation of American Scientists web site (Secrecy News, 09/19/07).

Antioxidants, Radiation and Mutations:  Investigations of individual birds have revealed that in areas of high contamination, antioxidants (i.e. vitamins A and E, and carotenoids) are depressed.  Depressed antioxidants appear related to increased mutation rates (as has been found in many other species, including humans).  In Chernobyl barn swallows, depressed antioxidants are associated with dramatically increased rates of defects in sperm, a phenomenon linked to depressed fertility in many species.

(ANSA) - MONFALCONE (GORIZIA), 31 GEN - I proiettili all'uranio impoverito innescano «reazioni nucleari subcritiche»: lo sostiene Marco Saba, portavoce dell' Osservatorio Etico Ambientale, associazione con sede legale a Monfalcone, da anni impegnata in studi e azioni di sensibilizzazione sull'impiego dell' U-238.

 «La tecnologia alla base di questo fenomeno - afferma Saba - è stata sviluppata a Oak Ridge, uno tre impianti statunitensi che producevano l'uranio impoverito, ed è stata oggetto di vari brevetti da parte dell' Ornl (Oak Ridge National Laboratory)».

 Saba ha reso noto di avere avuto conferma oggi della notizia con un breve comunicato inviato all'Osservatorio dall' ex direttore della sicurezza di Oak Ridge, James E. Phelps. «Sotto accusa - ha spiegato - vi è in particolare il fenomeno dell' instabilità Richtmyer-Meshkov, che contribuirebbe in modo determinante all'innesco della reazione nucleare vera e propria».

 «È così - ha aggiunto - che si spiega il ritrovamento dei prodotti di fissione rivelati da un'indagine condotta in Svizzera. Desta preoccupazione il fatto che una nazione, colpita con queste armi, potrebbe sentirsi autorizzata a rispondere con altre armi disumane, non esclusi i tradizionali ordigni nucleari». (ANSA).

Ma che cosa è esattamente l'Uranio impoverito cosa avviene quando un proiettile  all'uranio impoverito colpisce   la corazza di un carroarmato?
l'uranio impoverito è composto principalmente di uranio 238 con una percentuale di uranio 235 attorno al 0,25-0,4%
Secondo la relazione  del 17 Novembre  2004  della commissione parlamentare di inchiesta " Leghe di Uranio impoverito vengono  impiegate come componenti inerti dei proiettili per la capacità di penetrare nella corazza dei carri armatrti, tale  capacità deriva  sia dalla elevata densita .. che dal suo  potere piroforico. "
ma i conti non tornano: come può un materiale inerte provocare una  termperatura all'impatto di 3mila 4 mila gradi,
 l' aggettivo  Piroforico, cioè portatore di  fuoco non  spiega la produzione di questa altissima temperatura.
Sempre nella relazione della commisione parlamentare viene scritto che ad una distanza di circa cento metri dai luoghi dell'esplosione  sono stati trovati composti a base di stronzio, carbonio,  zolfo, ferro, silicio piombo e particelle a base di oro, argento e mercurio  ,... polveri con una composizione chimica nuova  rispetto al  materiale esistente
Anche in questo  caso i conti non tornano , come è possibile  che siano presenti nel luogo dell esplosione sostanze prima non esistenti
Siamo andati a chiedere aiuto a Martin Fleishmann uno scienziato che già da tempo si è occupato  dei processi nucleari non convenzionali

Quali sono i fattori che le hanno fatto pensare che non fosse credibile la spiegazione fin ora fornita sul modo in cui funziona l'uranio impoverito?

Sembra impossibile spiegare l'altissima temperatura che viene raggiunta dentro lo spazio definito dei tanks, nei termini dell'esplosione dei materiali esistenti. Questa è un punto. E sono ora disponibili informazioni sufficienti che indicano che ci sono strani prodotti, prodotti minori dell'esplosioni, che penso siano impossibili da spiegare solo con l'esplosione dei materiali esistenti. Quindi penso che sarebbe sensato pensare a un processo di tipo nucleare.

Penso che i materiali osservati nell'operazione dell'uranio impoverito possano essere spiegati in termini di fissione, fissione dell'uranio impoverito.

L'osservazione dei materiali è coerente con l'operazione del doppio (cratere) cioe della doppia esplosione (per fissione e per fusione) che illustra i prodotti di una reazione di fusione
Quindi se si produce stronzio si deve produrre sempre qualche prodotto con un peso atomico che vada con lo stronzio. Sia che la distribuzione dei materiali in un cratere sia in accordo con quello che ci si aspetta, sia che non lo sia, rimane stabilita.

La presenza dello stronzio può essere spiegata  dal processo di fissione dell' atomo dell uranio ( peso atomico 92)  che da una parte  viene diviso in  stronzio (ha peso atomico 38)  e dall' altra in Xenonun gas di   peso atomico  54, liberando altissimi levelli di energia

Se la sua ipotesi fosse vera avremmo un nuovo processo nucleare. Le conseguenze sulle persone, sui militari e sulle persone nell'area, sarebbero provocate più dal processo nucleare che dal materiale, il così detto uranio impoverito. E' possibile?

Sì. Ci è sembrato che le operazioni con armi all'uranio impoverito sollevino molte domande. E queste domande impongono delle investigazioni prima che queste armi vengano impiegate.

Pensa che i militari che producono e utilizzano questo tipo di armi sono consapevoli delle proprietà fisiche o sono informati solo sugli effetti che queste armi provocano?

Penso che non siano molto documentati sul Background fenomeni, … Loro lo usano come arma. Perché dovrebbero cercare di capire qualcosa di più di quanto non sia richiesto, per usarlo come arma.

Ma i danni prodotti da queste armi sono enormi anche su chi le usa, non solo sui nemici.

Bè, è così che va. Se si usano armi il cui modus operandi non è ben compreso è probabile che si verifichino strani fenomeni, che non si è in grado di spiegare.

Pensa che vietare l'uranio impoverito sui campi di battaglia potrebbe essere un passo utile per evitare danni che durano per generazioni?

Di certo credo che sarebbe utile comprendere quali processi si verificano nelle munizioni all'uranio impoverito, e credo che molte di queste informazioni potrebbero essere disponibili se i danni, i danni fisici provocati da queste armi fossero catalogati in modo appropriato. Potremmo fare grandi passi avanti.

Abbiamo una commissione parlamentare che sta facendo un'inchiesta sull'uranio impoverito e sui morti che questo ha provocato. Quali suggerimenti darebbe a questa ricerca istituzionale?

E' difficile dare un suggerimento sensato dall'esterno. Penso che la prima fondamentale questione sia stabilire la distribuzione degli strani materiali prodotti. Stabilire la distribuzione nello spazio e nel tempo dei prodotti della reazione e poi pensare a cosa possa essere stato all'origine di questa distribuzione
